Пєтухов Іван Михайлович

ULIE Vice President for Information Technology

Petukhov Ivan Mykhailovych was born in 1963. He got a degree in radiotechnics engineering at the Military Engineering School.

In 1989, he went in for individual labor activity. He was one of the first people in the country to create a website in 1991. He founded the Adamant Company and became its president in 1992. Today he is the president of the Adamant Group of IT companies.

In 1993, he became a public activist and promoted the idea of Internet. He took active part in the creation of the first Ukrainian Internet Association. He was one of the initiators of the creation of the Internet Exchange Point – UA-IX in 1999 and in 2000 the Ukrainian Internet Association was created. He joined the board of the Ukrainian Internet Association and remains its member until now. He also chairs the Association's committees for information and communication technologies in education and for the development of the system of domain names.

In 1999, he joined the ULIE and in 2003 the Adamant Company became a member society of this leading non-governmental organization of Ukraine. Petukhov became a board member of the ULIE Commission for Science and Technology and its chairman, a member of the economic council of the ULIE Council for Corporate Security. In 2005, he was appointed as ULIE vice president. He is also a board member of the International Congress of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs.

He took part in the creation of the Public Council for Information and Communication Technologies and joined it in 2005.

Petukhov is a member of the science and technology council at the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, the Interbranch Council for Information Society Development, a permanent consultative and advising agency under the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, the working group for the introduction of reform aimed at the development of science, technology and innovations as part of the Economic Reform Program for 2010-2014 entitled "Prosperous Society, Competitive Economy, Effective State" developed by the Committee on Economic Reforms under the President of Ukraine. He is also a member of the expert and consulting council for information technologies at the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, the board of the Ukrainian Network Information Center and the International Trade-Club of Ukraine.

In 2011 he became a member of the board and coordination council for science and innovation and the secretariat of the Civil Council at the State Agency on Science, Innovations and Informatization of Ukraine, and deputy head of the Civil Council at the State Service of Ukraine on Personal Data Protection.

He works persistently on the improvement of the legislation for the development of the IT sphere in Ukraine, streamlining the national legislation with the best world standards and examples and enhancing the country's authority on the international level.

At the initiative of Ivan Mykhailovych the Adamant Company sponsored many social projects, including the Program of Informatization of Schools in Kyiv, international youth festivals of arts and cinema, sports tournaments and academic competitions, international exhibitions and research projects, etc.

He was awarded with the international prize Olimpus, certificates of honor from the Verkhovna Rada, the Cabinet of Ministers and the Security Service of Ukraine, letters of acknowledgement, certificates and the Golden Mark of the ULIE.

In 2013, Petukhov was awarded with the prize of the International Anti-Terrorism Unity, which is a member of the Council of Europe, for his personal contribution to fight against terrorism and extremism, forming of high spirituality and tolerance and protection of human rights.
