Жук Людмила Володимирівна

Vice President of the Ukrainian League of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs

Zhuk Liudmyla Volodymyrivna was born in Ural (Russia). She got a degree in journalism at Ural State University. For many years she worked for newspapers of various levels and non-governmental organizations.

While living in Lviv, in 1990-1993 she took part in the creation and establishment of an all-Ukrainian business newspaper Halytski Kontrakty (now renamed Kontrakty). She worked for her own business. In 1998 she headed the press service of the ULIE. In 2001-2002 she worked as deputy head of the press service of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine. In 2003 she was elected as vice president of the ULIE in charge of the information and image policy.

During her work for the ULIE, Zhuk implemented many interesting information projects, including various publications about activities of industrialists and entrepreneurs, the ULIE Newsletter, radio and television programs, the ULIE website, etc. She was the initiator of joining the ULIE to the UN Global Compact, a United Nations initiative to encourage businesses worldwide to adopt sustainable and socially responsible policies, and continues to develop the League's work in this direction. Liudmyla Zhuk is a member of Ukrainian-Israeli Intergovernmental Commission.

She is involved into public activities as a member of the political council of the Party of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Ukraine. She also headed the Regions-Center Association of Regional Business Press.

Zhuk has the titled of Honored Journalist of Ukraine.

She has two daughters, who are also journalists. Zhuk is keen on literature, classical music, jazz, and Bible studies.
