Kharkiv Regional League of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs has signed a cooperation agreement with the local Chamber of Commerce. The parties agreed to unite their efforts to protect interests of domestic producers, strengthen their role in social and economic development of the region and facilitate market transformations in the region.
In addition, the organizations share common goals of promoting local products in the domestic and foreign markets, enhancing small and medium businesses, attracting investment, and improving the business climate in Kharkiv.
These agreements correlate with a large-scale program of non-governmental business organizations on the establishment of the coalition of small and medium businesses. It was established through the association of industrialists and businessmen of Kharkiv oblast and the regional union of entrepreneurs. The main objective is to defend the legitimate rights of self-employed citizens, and create favorable conditions for business development.
"Currently, the coalition has a number of instruments to communicate with the authorities: its representatives spearhead the Regional Business Council in the region. They are leaders of the Public Council at the Kharkiv Regional State Administration, the Advisory Council at the Prosecutor's Office, etc. Kharkiv incorporates a considerable number of business associations with enough leverage to improve the business climate in the region. The coalition is open to all those who are interested," said Executive Director of the League of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs in Kharkiv region Eduard Nabokov.
Currently, the coalition plans to start the implementation of a program entitled "Capacity building of Ukrainian business associations, chamber of commerce and industry, and think tanks regarding joint development and promotion of local business agenda." Entrepreneurs seek to determine obstacles in the way of carrying out their activity and business development, monitor and evaluate the government measures designed to eliminate them [obstacles], establish effective dialogue with the authorities.
Recently, the business community also signed a Memorandum of Cooperation with candidates standing as deputies of local councils and the post of mayor of Kharkiv.
The coalition will be responsible for anti-corruption expertise of local regulations, the use of existing systems of communication with the authorities to improve the business climate in the region. The coalition will act as a strong advocate for small and medium businesses.
