The Business Talant of Ukraine 2016 national contest, which was organized by the Ukrainian League of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs and Amway Ukraine, has ended. Three hundred women who were contestants this year presented case studies in the categories of innovation, intellectual, environmental and social business. The range of female interests is impressive – from setting up private kindergartens, sports, tourism, cooking, foreign languages clubs for children and the youth to numerous small businesses such as cultural event agencies, tailor's and jewelry workshops, and others.
Tomas Muras, the Director General of Amway Ukraine, said: "The Business Talant of Ukraine initiative is essential. We want and are ready to support women who are determined and who start their own business."
Valentyna Sabelnikova is the winner of the contest. Her project called "Organic Villa" is the growing of fresh organic fruit and berries that are free from chemicals and are useful for life and health.
"I wish all the participants were the winners. The women who have overcome their natural caution, sometimes coped with family-related circumstances and plunged into a hard and unpredictable business world, deserve great respect. It is important that all of them become a model for hundreds of others who also have ideas and are ready to fulfill them on their own or with their loved ones' support, but remain undecided. Let's remember that a new job matters most for the country, and even if it is one job – it is anyway a victory," President of the Ukrainian League of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs Anatoliy Kinakh said.
A special prize was awarded to Lilia Bratus, the author of a social project, Lili Bratus Atelier, which produces clothing for people with disabilities.
This year, it was the fifth competition for Ukrainian female entrepreneurs.
