Preparations for nationwide business forum in Ukraine under way

On March 18, Kyiv will host an All-Ukrainian Business Forum that will become a meeting point for about two hundred business associations, industrial unions, business organizations, NGOs, analytical and research centers.

The goal of the Forum is to unite the social forces that do not want to put up with the aggravation of the social, economic and political crisis, the degradation of the industrial complex, threats to national interests. The social and economic situation will be objectively analyzed with the engagement of experts, and forecasts about consequences will be made. A strategy for economic development will be elaborated on the basis of the anti-crisis program of joint actions by the government and businesses. Participants in the Forum will demand in a civilized, constitutional way that the Ukrainian authorities conduct a full-fledged, responsible dialogue with civil society and businesses. This is the agenda of the nationwide Forum.

The organizer of the Forum is the Anti-Crisis Council of NGOs, which unites more than 100 national organizations representing virtually all the sectors of the country's real economy.

The business community points out that the incumbent government has been conducting inefficient policy, and the announced reforms have been stalled or are being implemented partially. There is neither systematic anti-crisis action nor programs for development, economic incentives, the revival of the industry, export facilitation, and the formation of a strong middle class.

The failure of the tax reform, a hastily adopted and poor-quality budget for 2016 have become serious challenges, which cause even a deeper crisis. Ukraine has become one of the world's five worst economies, it was recognized as one of the most corrupt countries with the low level of confidence in the banking sector.

Representatives of civil society are ready to make every effort not to lose a real chance of bringing the country out of crisis in a civilized way, to protect its territorial integrity and safeguard national security.

The Forum will suggest that Ukrainian society create a technocratic government of NGOs, which will gather the best qualified practitioners. This government will develop effective anti-crisis measures, will work with the public by explaining the need of urgent reforms, press the authorities in a civilized, lawful way for more action and greater accountability to the people.

The Anti-Crisis Council believes that the responsibility of every NGO, every active citizen, entrepreneur, government official is to take care of the country, its future and sustainable economic development. That is why the Forum invites every participant and attendee. Your suggestions, comments, ideas are welcome at: uspp@uspp.org.ua.

Together let's change Ukraine for the better!
