The regional branch of the Ukrainian League of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs (ULIE) in Uzhgorod, western Ukraine, has established cooperation with the local community of participants and volunteers of the Anti-Terrorist Operation (ATO). In particular, a memorandum on partnership and cooperation was signed with NGO "Ukrainian Associations of ATO Combatants and Volunteers in Zakarpattia region."
Prior to the signing ceremony, representatives of volunteer organizations and associations of ATO combatants mentioned the need to merge individual agencies that are engaged in solving the problems of Ukraine's defenders into a powerful and influential organization.
Chairman of the ULIE Regional Branch in Zakarpattia, Oleksiy Kindrat, urged combatants and volunteers to address any problems on the way to achieving that goal as soon as possible.
"It is necessary to establish a constructive dialogue between businesses, the government and citizens – this is the only way possible to overcome the crisis in the country and resolve many issues facing by the combatants, their families and the volunteer movement," he said.
Industrialists and businessmen pledged to develop effective and detailed programs for support of the Ukrainian military in solving humanitarian, social, legal issues.
According to Chairman of Zakarpattia State Regional Administration's public council Mykhailo Gren, all those who have returned from the ATO zone should be given special attention. In the process of adapting to a civilian life, servicemen need psychological assistance, training programs, and social protection. For example, one of the spheres could be assistance in establishing their own business.
In his words, it is possible to use expertise of business representatives who are ready to help in this regard, and the signing of the memorandum was evidence of this.
It should be noted that the memorandum of partnership and cooperation between the Ukrainian League of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs and the Ukrainian Association of ATO Combatants and Volunteers was approved in October 2015. It is aimed at involving former combatants in the active life of civil society, consolidating efforts of both organizations to help combatants with finding a job, start up a small-sized business, and solve urgent social problems as well.
