First Meeting of the Committee on Transport Infrastructure Development: Key Plans and International Focus

The first meeting of the Committee on Transport Infrastructure Development was held at the Ukrainian League of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs (ULIE). The Committee was established to support the modernization of railway infrastructure, improve transportation efficiency, and enhance the competitiveness of Ukraine’s logistics sector.

The initiative was launched by ULIE and the Association of Railway Carriers of Ukraine, with members including representatives from industry and expert associations, Ukrzaliznytsia, businesses, and other stakeholders. The Committee is open to participation from specialists in the public and non-governmental sectors, industry, and analytical centers.

During the meeting, participants discussed the preparation of the Committee’s Regulations and the action plan for 2025.

A key objective is to develop a Roadmap for railway sector reform in Ukraine, engage in discussions with the government, and present specific investment opportunities to businesses and international financial and business institutions.

The Association of Railway Carriers of Ukraine, with the support of ULIE, is establishing legal entities in the United States that will maintain contacts with American government agencies, parliamentary institutions, and financial organizations. This was previously announced by the President of the Association, Serhii Nenko.

In the near future, a presentation of the Ukrzaliznytsia reform concept will take place in Washington, followed by a similar event in London. The main goal is to launch concrete investment and modernization mechanisms for railway infrastructure.

ULIE President Anatoliy Kinakh expressed confidence that the Committee’s initiatives will serve as the foundation for railway sector reform and that implementing its planned activities will help attract investment and facilitate projects based on public-private partnerships.
