Global Leaders Unite for Ukraine’s Recovery: Key Outcomes of the Meeting with Lives Amplified Leadership

A working meeting between Anatolii Kinakh, Chairman of the Reconstruction of Ukraine Council, former Prime Minister of Ukraine (2001–2002), and President of the Ukrainian League of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs (ULIE), and Dr.Steven Melnik, Secretary General of Global Institution of World Leaders “Lives Amplified” (New York, USA), took place in Monaco.

The Reconstruction of Ukraine Council operates within Lives Amplified — an international platform that brings together influential global leaders, business representatives and investors from all around the world.

The meeting followed the first session of the Ukrainian branch of the Council, which was recently held at the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine in Kyiv. The Council includes representatives of leading Ukrainian business, business associations, the National Academy of Sciences, leading Ukrainian universities, government institutions, as well as humanitarian and veterans’ initiatives. Among the participating companies are ATB-Market, Monobank, TAScombank, TAS Industrial Group, Astarta, Kargoremtrans, MHP, Krypton, Ukrelectrocable, FRU Defense, and others.

During the meeting, the participants emphasized the urgency of action: recovery programs must be developed now, without waiting for the end of the active phase of the war with the russian aggressor. According to national and international estimates, Ukraine’s total damages have already exceeded $600 billion. For example, over 60 million square meters of housing have been destroyed, requiring at least $86 billion for reconstruction. Energy and transport infrastructure, along with humanitarian projects, are among the Council’s priorities.

The parties agreed that the recovery process must be based on the principles of an industrial and innovation-driven economy, with the application of advanced technologies and the creation of favorable conditions for large-scale investment. Key priorities include industrial modernization and mass production, energy development, and rebuilding of social infrastructure. These sectors are essential for creating jobs and encouraging Ukrainians to return home. Currently, over 7 million Ukrainians have found refuge abroad, mainly in the EU and North America. According to various surveys, the share of those planning to return has dropped from 50% to 20%.

“It is critically important to create jobs and bring our citizens back from abroad. This is an enormous human capital that we cannot afford to lose,” emphasized Anatolii Kinakh, who is also a Board Member of Lives Amplified.

He also stressed the importance of developing Ukraine’s defense-industrial complex and attracting private capital to the defense sector to strengthen national resilience.

“Ukraine is not just a country fighting a far stronger aggressor and therefore in urgent need of international assistance. We also have strong internal potential, are open to investment, and can be a reliable partner,” Kinakh added.

The parties agreed to hold the next session of the Reconstruction of Ukraine Council in Washington, D.C. in September, with the participation of international policymakers, representatives of U.S. businesses, global corporations, and the leadership of Lives Amplified. The event will feature the presentation of specific recovery projects developed by the Ukrainian side, with a focus on their readiness for immediate implementation.

The humanitarian aspect of cooperation was also discussed, including joint initiatives in psychosocial and physical rehabilitation of veterans, support for internally displaced persons, orphans, and civilians affected by the war. ULIE and Lives Amplified have their own respective initiatives, which will be consolidated within the Council’s framework.
