The Ukrainian business community is establishing a solid infrastructure for cooperation with Polish partners. In 2022, the trade turnover between Ukraine and Poland increased by 19.2%, reaching 12.1473 billion dollars. Moreover, our exports grew by 27.3% compared to 2021. This year, we observe a similar trend.
The Ukrainian League of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs is committed to developing bilateral projects in the fields of processing, mechanical engineering, IT, banking services, and improving transportation infrastructure. Since the onset of full-scale aggression by the russian federation against Ukraine in February 2022, Ukrainian industrialists have significantly strengthened and invigorated their communications with Poland. Poland has accepted millions of Ukrainian refugees, provided substantial assistance to our country, and lobbied for our rapid membership in the EU and NATO.
During this time, ULIE has solidified partnerships with the Polish-Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce, the Polish Employers, the Union of Entrepreneurs and Employers of Poland, the Institute of Corporate Law and International Investments, and the City of Gdańsk (one of the key ports for Ukrainian exports). Several business delegations, joint forums, and conferences have taken place.
On September 21-22, 2023, the "Common Future" Congress on the Reconstruction of Ukraine will be held in Poznań. Among the organizers are ULIE's partner, the Polish-Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce, the Jagiellonian Club, the Association of Polish Cities with the support of the Ministry of Funds and Regional Policy of Poland, and the Polish Government's Plenipotentiary for Polish-Ukrainian Cooperation in the Development Jadwiga Emilewicz.
ULIE's delegation, led by President Anatoliy Kinakh, has been invited to participate in the event. President Kinakh will also serve as a speaker at the Congress, representing the position of Ukrainian business.
The delegation will also include Vice-Presidents of ULIE, Leonid Kozachenko (head of the Ukrainian Agrarian Confederation), Volodymyr Sachenko (head of "Ukrmashbud"), and Serhiy Ustinov (a member of the Intergovernmental Commission for Economic Cooperation between Ukraine and Poland).
On the sidelines of the Congress and afterwards, a round of meetings and negotiations with interested Polish investors is planned.
Representatives of ULIE will also meet with the leadership of the Institute of Corporate Law and International Investments in Warsaw to finalize the project of creating the Club of Prime Ministers, an independent international institution dedicated to the reconstruction of Ukraine and attracting donor funding for this purpose.
"This collaboration with the Polish business sector, civil organizations, the Polish government allows us to seek a balance of interests and shape long-term economic and investment strategies. It is crucial for Ukraine that Poland is actively involved in the processes of Ukraine's reconstruction after the consequences of war and russia's full-scale aggression. We are grateful for the efforts of our Polish friends and hope to significantly expand cooperation in the production, export of goods and services, and implementation of infrastructure and energy projects in Ukraine," concluded Anatoliy Kinakh."
