Ukrainian-Lithuanian project of development of audio-visual creative industry sector re-launches its work in September after it has been frozen due to military actions in Ukraine

Ukrainian delegation of information technologies and creative industries sector which included such companies as WEB PRO LLC, IMC LLC, DIEVO AGENCY LLC, B2blogger (PRNEWS.IO ), and Art Depo Media LLC, visited Amsterdam already on September 9-12, 2022. These are young start-ups and companies with a longer history as operators of critical wired telecommunications infrastructure, working on publishing periodicals and distributing film, video and television products, creating advertising and PR products for international advertising customers, and developing online platforms using the cutting-edge audiovisual technologies.

The visit was held within the international project “Study visit for the audiovisual sector within creative industries” where ULIE acts as a partner of INFOBALT, national IT and telecommunications association (Lithuania).

The project is implemented within the EU4Business programme which is the EU initiative which facilitates SMEs in six Eastern Partnership countries to utilize their potential more effectively and boost economic growth (key tools of EU4Business are obtaining the access to funding, business development services and auspicious business climate creation).

The Contracting Authority within the project is Eurochambres which is the association of European chambers of commerce and industry which represents over 20 million companies in Europe through 43 national chambers of commerce and industry and European network of 1700 regional and local chambers.

The delegation worked fruitfully at the forum IBC 2022.

The International Broadcasting Conference (IBC) is Europe's largest annual broadcasting forum, bringing together the world's broadcasting professionals. It was founded in 1967.

IBC exposition is divided into three areas: audio-video content creation, management and administration of audio-video content, audio-video content delivery.

IBC sections include 13 thematic sections: audio and video technologies, video equipment, computer technology, computer networks, networking, computer technology, music electronics, multimedia, testing equipment, software, broadcasting technology, television technology, telecommunications, information technology, satellite technology.

In addition to the exhibition, IBC hosts conferences and seminars where heads of various companies speak. It is here that modern approaches to the creation, management, and delivery of both entertainment and news content are defined.

IBC events are of interest to all broadcasting and electronic media professionals (equipment manufacturers, representatives of professional technical associations, content providers, broadcasters, and other industry professionals).

Lithuanian party was represented by Lithuanian TV and Radio Broadcasting Commission, AGATA copyright and related rights protection organization, AVAKA Association for Audiovisual Copyright Protection and other institutions.

At the forum Ukrainian delegation focused on protecting intellectual property rights and copyrights, ways of protecting copyrights in the Internet, in particular, blocking Internet domains, methods of improving the effectiveness of copyright and related rights protection in the Internet etc.

During numerous BtoB meetings, Ukrainian IT specialists not only learnt from their foreign colleagues about combating pirated content, but also called for assistance to the Ukrainian armed forces by transferring telecommunications equipment for critical infrastructure to Ukraine.

In the meanwhile the Ukrainian-Lithuanian project moves forward and a Lithuanian delegation is expected to visit Ukraine end October to hold seminar and to continue working with Ukrainian partners on the problem of fighting pirated and illegal content.
