ULIE apply for observer status in the EU largest business association Businesseurope

In connection with granting Ukraine the status of a candidate for EU accession the Ukrainian League of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs confirms its intentions to become an observer in BUSINESSEUROPE. This confederation represents the entire business of the EU, in particular 20 million companies, 40 national associations.

ULIE has cooperated with BUSINESSEUROPE consistently since 2016. The partners signed a memorandum of cooperation and a representative office of Ukrainian industrialists and entrepreneurs was opened in the Brussels office of Businesseurope.

Since the beginning of the large-scale invasion of the Russian Federation into Ukraine, ULIE and BUSINESSEUROPE have already held several meetings, discussed the current economic situation in Ukraine, ways of assistance from European business to Ukrainian partners.

"The mission and priorities of BUSINESSEUROPE fully correspond to the interests of the business community of Ukraine not only during the war, but for the long term," says the letter from the Ukrainian side addressed to the president of the organization Mr. Fredrik Persson.

Along with the application, the ULIE also sent fact sheet on the members of the business union, an analysis of opportunities for expanding cooperation between domestic and European businesses.

In accordance with the procedure, BUSINESSEUROPE will in the future start discussions about the membership of the ULIE with all member federations followed by further consideration of the issue by the governing bodies.

"We are convinced that the intensification of the cooperation of business communities will give an impetus to the development of economic cooperation, the implementation of joint projects in Ukraine, and the increase of mutually beneficial trade", - the president of ULIE Anatolii Kinakh commented.
