The Ukrainian League of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs (ULIE) welcomes the EU Council's decision to start accession negotiations with Ukraine. The talks are set to begin tomorrow, June 25. This is the penultimate stage of European integration and a significant progress for us and our European partners.
“This is a decision we have all eagerly awaited. Ukraine has been consistently fulfilling its obligations and is ready to become part of the European family,” emphasized ULIE President Anatoliy Kinakh.
The business community leader noted that our country must carry out several important reforms – judicial (ensuring the rule of law), strengthening the fight against corruption, among others.
At the same time, a number of adaptation measures need to be taken for our key economic sectors, enhance work in the direction of adapting standards and technical regulations, modernize industry and reduce its energy intensity wherever possible, and much more.
“All social partners – the government, employers, trade unions, as well as legislators and the judiciary – must work efficiently and harmoniously, in consultation with European institutions,” summarized ULIE.
