On June 13, Zhytomyr hosted the third workshop organized by Lithuanian Openeurope and supported by MFA of Lithuania, ULIE and regional state administrations.
This workshop was fully dedicated to biomass market development in Ukraine, Lithuanian experience, EU regulations for biomass.
Lithuanian experts expressed their advice and expertise to the Ukrainian entrepreneurs on EU market entry and suggested some particular projects in this domain.
Biomass market is very promising. Now it is key alternative source of energy and growth rate of bioenergy is soaring in Ukraine: 43% annually with bio-fuel and waste output and 33% with overall supply of primary bio-fuels. Ultimately bioenergy has replaced 3.8 billion cubic meters of the natural gas in 2017. Biomass potential in Ukraine is equivalent to 17-20 billion cubic meters of the natural gas.
